Habituellement, vous vous en sauverez avec une course de 25 $-30 $. Plusieurs se souviendront de l\u2019usine de Canadair (maintenant Bombardier)&nbsp;dans le quartier de&nbsp;Cartierville qui \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9 de deux pistes d\u2019atterrissage et si la demande est l\u00e0, nous en discuterons prochainement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui, je vous parle de celui que l\u2019on conna\u00eet un peu moins. Situ\u00e9 entre l\u2019autoroute Bonaventure et le pont Victoria se trouvait une simple piste d\u2019atterrissage en fonction de 1974 \u00e0 1976. Il est pr\u00e9vu pour \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 par des avions \u00e0 d\u00e9collage et atterrissage court (ADAC) ou des a\u00e9ronefs \u00e0 d\u00e9collage et atterrissage verticaux (ADAV). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet-pilote est pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le 13 mai 1971 par le ministre des Transports du Canada, Don Jamieson. La premi\u00e8re ligne du syst\u00e8me d\u2019adacport serait Montr\u00e9al-Ottawa avec sa construction d&rsquo;une piste de 2 000 pieds o\u00f9 se situe un immense stationnement du temps de l\u2019Expo 67. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral s&rsquo;engage de construire les a\u00e9rogares d&rsquo;Ottawa et de Montr\u00e9al et d&rsquo;acheter six avions DHC-6 Twin-Otter modifi\u00e9s de 11 passagers de la compagnie De Havilland Canada qui seront op\u00e9r\u00e9 par Air Canada sous le nom d&rsquo;Air Transit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 son annonce,, le projet a d\u00e9j\u00e0 co\u00fbt\u00e9 61 millions en \u00e9tude de faisabilit\u00e9. Si le projet s\u2019av\u00e8re positif, des villes comme Toronto, Boston et New York \u00e9taient dans la mire des gestionnaires pour agrandir le r\u00e9seau. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imaginez maintenant la congestion a\u00e9rienne avec Dorval, Cartierville et Victoria se trouvant plus ou moins tous dans le secteur ouest et pour cette raison les pilotes furent judicieusement s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s et entra\u00een\u00e9s pour le vol en basse altitude, sur courte piste et en environnement urbain. Les vols d\u00e9collaient toutes les heures entre 8 h et 22 h et ne duraient que 45 minutes environ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La petitesse de l\u2019appareil Twin-Otter n\u2019avait aucune cabine d\u00e9di\u00e9e au pilotage, peu de place pour des baguages, pas d\u2019h\u00f4tesse, de repas ou m\u00eame de journaux. Le tarmac s\u2019enfonce d&rsquo;ailleurs de plusieurs centim\u00e8tres&nbsp;\u00e0 cause du terrain constitu\u00e9 de d\u00e9chets entass\u00e9s sur plusieurs dizaines de m\u00e8tres de hauteur fabriqu\u00e9s sp\u00e9cifiquement pour servir&nbsp;de parc de stationnement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une histoire raconte qu\u2019un inspecteur qui avait lanc\u00e9 sur des fissures&nbsp;un bout de papier&nbsp;qu\u2019il avait pr\u00e9alablement allum\u00e9&nbsp;aurait eu la surprise de voir la piste prendre feu \u00e0 ses pieds. Les restants appartenant au CN et \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Ponts f\u00e9d\u00e9raux. Le Victoria Stolport devient de l\u2019histoire ancienne, souvent oubli\u00e9e ou compl\u00e8tement inconnue par les dizaines de milliers d\u2019automobilistes qui empruntent les voies de l\u2019autoroute Bonaventure ou du pont Victoria chaque jour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;Adacport Victoria n&rsquo;aurait jamais pu \u00eatre de niveau international comme Dorval l&rsquo;est aujourd&rsquo;hui, mais le succ\u00e8s de l&rsquo;<a aria-label=\"A\u00e9roport Billy-Bishop (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billybishopairport.com\/accueil\" target=\"_blank\">A\u00e9roport Billy-Bishop<\/a> de Toronto pousse \u00e0 se demander si le service centre-ville \u00e0 centre-ville n&rsquo;aurait pas eu un effet positif dans le transport a\u00e9rien et sur les affaires de la m\u00e9tropole. Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements du 11 septembre 2001 sont venus changer la fa\u00e7on de voyager, juste pas de la mani\u00e8re qu&rsquo;avait imagin\u00e9 les gouvernements de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque.
