De ces 18\u00a0m\u00e8tres, la grande roue se veut une ode aux transports alternatifs et non \u00e0 la Ronde comme certains \u00ab?trolls?\u00bb se sont amus\u00e9 \u00e0 dire.<\/p>\n<p>Cette roue de v\u00e9lo g\u00e9ante est entour\u00e9e de cinq structures d\u2019autobus stylis\u00e9es. Gagnant d\u2019un concours pancanadien organis\u00e9 par le <a href=\"http:\/\/ville.montreal.qc.ca\/portal\/page?_pageid=678,1153891&amp;_dad=portal&amp;_schema=PORTAL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bureau d\u2019Art-Public de Montr\u00e9al<\/a>, le Groupe BGL de Qu\u00e9bec, form\u00e9 des sculpteurs Jasmin Bilodeau, S\u00e9bastien Gigu\u00e8re et Nicolas Laverdi\u00e8re, disposera d\u2019un budget de 1,1\u00a0million pour sa r\u00e9alisation.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2000\" src=\"https:\/\/proposmontreal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/velocite.jpg\" alt=\"velocite\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/proposmontreal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/velocite.jpg 600w, https:\/\/proposmontreal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/velocite-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/proposmontreal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/velocite-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Malheureusement, les m\u00e9dias ont tourn\u00e9 cette bonne nouvelle en historie de gros sous. Les grands titres pouvaient se lire \u00ab?<a href=\"http:\/\/www.journaldemontreal.com\/2013\/08\/30\/une-grande-roue-de-18-metres-de-11-million--a-montreal-nord\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Une grande roue de 18\u00a0m\u00e8tres de 1,1\u00a0million\u00a0$ \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al-Nord<\/a>?\u00bb ou \u00ab?<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/culture\/arts-visuels\/386347\/montreal-devoile-la-plus-couteuse-oeuvre-d-art-public-au-quebec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Montr\u00e9al d\u00e9voile la plus co\u00fbteuse \u0153uvre d\u2019art public au Qu\u00e9bec<\/a>?\u00bb ce qui a eu comme effet de lire ce type de commentaires sur leur site web. \u00ab?je regrette, mais \u00e7a sent la magouille \u00e0 plein nez?\u00bb, \u00ab?Une fausse grande roue sac&#8230;&#8230;., \u00e0 part faire rire encore de nous autres pis de co\u00fbter les yeux de la t\u00eate\u2026?\u00bb ou le merveilleux \u00ab?Une grande roue a l\u2019image de Montr\u00e9al, \u00e7a tourne en rond?!?\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Ces commentaires, tous tir\u00e9s du site web de Journal de Montr\u00e9al qui l\u2019on sait bien, est lu par des gens sens\u00e9s et bien articul\u00e9s, repr\u00e9sente quand m\u00eame le doute de la populace quand nous parlons d\u2019argent.<\/p>\n<p>Ces chialeux cyniques ne comprennent pas que pour aider un quartier tel que celui de Montr\u00e9al-Nord qui a mauvaise r\u00e9putation, il n\u2019est pas juste n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019avoir des \u00e9coles, des programmes sociaux et des habitations \u00e0 loyer modique. Il faut aussi que les r\u00e9sidents se sentent fiers de leur milieu, ils doivent pouvoir \u00eatre heureux de dire que la ville s\u2019occupe de leur environnement autant qu\u2019ils s\u2019occupent d\u2019eux. Embellir la ville c\u2019est aussi embellir ces habitants.<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 mon optimiste, il est vrai que ce ne sera pas long avant que l\u2019\u0153uvre qui sera install\u00e9e en 2015 soit vandalis\u00e9e, c\u2019est un fait montr\u00e9alais que les sculpteurs ont l\u2019air d\u2019avoir bien pens\u00e9. La roue sera mont\u00e9e assez haut hors de port\u00e9e sur des pilotis donnant le moins de surface possible \u00e0 d\u00e9figurer. En grandeur et valeur, il est facile de comparer \u00ab?La V\u00e9locit\u00e9 des Lieux?\u00bb avec \u00ab?<a title=\"L\u2019Homme de Calder\" href=\"https:\/\/proposmontreal.com\/index.php\/lhomme-de-calder\/\">l\u2019Homme de Calder<\/a>?\u00bb qui elle, mesure 22\u00a0m\u00e8tres et d\u2019une valeur estim\u00e9e de 50\u00a0$ millions et qui est aujourd\u2019hui une fiert\u00e9 de l\u2019art public montr\u00e9alais plus de 45\u00a0ans apr\u00e8s sont installation.<\/p>\n<p>Cette structure est un cadeau bien m\u00e9rit\u00e9 aux r\u00e9sidents de Montr\u00e9al-Nord qui n\u2019ont pas toujours la vie facile, une belle porte d\u2019entr\u00e9e sur la ville et qui saura embellir un des carrefours les plus achaland\u00e9s de la ville. Mais, il nous manque encore cette \u0153uvre centrale r\u00e9unissant les Montr\u00e9alais et dominant la ville qui devrait \u00eatre situ\u00e9e au pied du Mont-Royal aux coins des rues du Parc et des Pins. Une \u0153uvre grandiose qui sera la carte postale de la ville pour les millions de touristes qui y passent chaque ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Je trouve cette roue plut\u00f4t int\u00e9ressante et j\u2019ai bien h\u00e2te de la voir dans son nouvel environnement compl\u00e9t\u00e9. En attendant, voici mon top\u00a09 des \u0153uvres publiques et priv\u00e9s ouvert \u00e0 tous de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>9.
